Here's a few that are kind of unusual: A 55 Chevy that has been cast in resin to look like it is made of wood. An aluminum car of uncertain age. A rod made to look like a Fender guitar. A resin cast 55 Pontiac Safari A metal 59 Ford A Chevrolet concept car as a Hasbro Amaze-A-Matic A 56 Ford metal car A friction drive Studebaker truck A chopped custom Ford?
Here are our two Wyandotte Cord's. The yellow one has the friction motor, the blue one does not but has skirted rear fenders. Both missing the removable roofs. Someone made a homemade windshield for the one, which is taller than the proper one.
it's ok for men to play with dolls as long as there is a lead acid battery and complicated wiring involved
I've noticed a few of these toys have slogans or messages written ALL over them. Was that a "thing" back then on real hot rods?
Just picked up these (cheap! ) from an estate sale: Rear bumper's missing but I can get a resin replacement. The .049 gas engine is free and still seems to have compression. It's 1/20 scale; here it is with an AMT 1/25 scale promo for comparison:
The Cox Riviera is RARE. I knew they existed, but have never seen one before. I didn't realize they were 1/20 scale.
Not really a hot rod but nice bit of art deco streamline, no makers name, probably French, about 10 inches long.
drove back the next weekend, and purchased it, can anybody point me in the direction of a top for this????
40's Schuco clockwork car. Talk about radical chop job? - No, it was like this from the start. No wonder you kids grew up twisted when the toys were like this... (found this at a swap meet 15 yrs back)
Gotta funny story about one of these. My Dad bought a totally stock '34 five window coupe in the early 60's. He bought it without a title, and so my grandparents assumed it was stolen and told him either the car goes or you go! His head was in the "right" place and he packed his stuff and left. 18 or so years go by and I've been born and reached the age where I'm now interested in cars and the old coupe is now sitting out in a barn. I've been trying to talk him out of it for a couple of years, and for my 15th Birthday he gives me one of these cars (beige with brown fenders). I proceed to loose it because I believe he's finally giving me the car, but no, he had taped an envelope with a considerable amount of money under the trunk of it (can't remember the exact amount, but it was either $50.00 or a $100.00!). I was never so disappointed to receive that much money in my life as that day! He still has the '34 (it's in a proper garage now), and I still have my '34 (on my dresser in Texas), and he "claims" he's going to leave it to me, but we'll see. I'm not in any hurry for that day to come around. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
