Personaly (holy crap), I would flip it and put the now top part where the heims are on the lower bar and where the lower bar is attached now would be where to place the heims. 1) it will look more streamline and not "Dangly" 2) It follows the way 99.7% of them were designed so that there is some degree of adjustment with very little heim movement, now it takes a lot of heim movement for little adjustment

  4. Actually the adjustment is in the lower bar through the pin and holes in bar, the heims are for ease of removal of unit off of frame as I have to have it off to get dragster on trailer.

Still, the wheel travels in a arc and not much movement where as flipping it and lenghting or shortening the lower bar moves the wheel to a greater degree. Your car - have fun!

  6. That's what I'm doing for adjustment, the lower bar is the adjustment. It slides back n forth with the 5/16 pin to lock it. I think we are talking about the same thing??

True. I was on the pit fence a few times in the old days when it rained blower bits. Amazing how far the parts can go.
Brings to mind this old article. http://wediditforlove.com/blowerexplosions.html

  15. Was thinking of using 4 of these but NHRA said something about HF junk and not being SFI approved....... go figure?

Looks good Carl, How will you attach the straps, Wrap around the center or through a slot

  21. Tim the bottom Tabs will have 3/4 dia x 1" slugs with 3/8 hole drilled in em to be welded to the 1" tabs on the 3/16 brackets with a 4 1/2"x 3/8 pin in em, the upper attachment will be threaded through two slots milled into the 1/4" aluminum plate

Carl, you can always use your old seat belts for the straps.

You mentioned having to change to camlock belts as per nhra. Is that a new rule or is the belt change because of them being out of date? If you`re going to eagle field in oct., wanna race?

  27. Mine are out of date and wanted to change to camlocks........
and sure see ya in oct
