Projects F1 build

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tinbender, Feb 15, 2012.

  1. Just got a new computer so I'm gonna try to post some pics. This is what I started with. Pretty typical for a 60 year old truck in the north west.

Looks like its pretty solid, despite the weather. Nice truck.

  4. Needed full floor and rockers, along with all 4 corners

Good place to start. Better than my 48 f1 when I got it. What are your plans?

  7. I'm just getting pictures together. Been on it two years now(on and off, you know how these things go). Shes in paint. Final assembly is going well. This ones not mine. Mines next! Should have some paint pics this weekend.
I clipped & boxed the frame, 9" 400 hp sbc. Not real traditional but came out nice.

A friend gave me a rust free F1. I pulled the front end, cleaned it up, and set a fresh 283 in it, (had an adaptor, and a '48 floorshift box)
That truck is something I wanted for years. My wife likes it too, she'll probably be doing most of the work on it as soon as the shop's finished...
    Yours is exceptionally clean...

  12. Hummmm........... I had to build the bottom 12" and patch all the fenders, even had holes rusted in the hood! But she's feeling much better now!:D
