I finally got my fuel tank, so I made up some mounts out of some "period correct" angle iron with some "obligatory" speed holes.
I need to get the lead out, cuz time is burning.

  6. Kip, you coulda used 1/2, 3/4, or 1" aluminum square, and just put the holes on with a Marksalot. If you like steel square with holes, they sell it a Home Depot & Lowes, its left over from when they built THE BUILDINGS! ;(

how about an ON and OFF switch, turn it off on a run and on when on the return road.

  19. Not much progress on the ol 55 been to busy puting the coupe back together. Cut out all the old steering box mount made it a lot lighter and stronger at the same time. This car was my first big build from nothing so it was a big learning curve and every time I work on it I end up changing a lot more than I originally planned on. I'll be back on the ford in a week or so

I have been waiting until I made some progress, but seeing as though progress is slow...here's where I'm at... The fiberglass nose is an old war torn piece, but I think I'm going to fix it and run it because it has to have some history as beat up as it is... I still have to put one quarter patch on the passenger side, and replace the tail pan. This car was way too rough to make anything other than a drag car out of, but it was cheap and is a 150 two door sedan...perfect for the gutted Pale Rider treatment.

Yeah, it went to a good home. I kept the motor, transmission and rear axle, so the 55 will be an injected BBC.

I picked up a NOS MAS 2 1/2" dropped tube axle and Ric sent me some hairpins, so this one will be Ford style front suspension, and Cromer style rear traction/ladder bars.

These are my three favorite 55's. I'm shooting for a level stance and more of a 67-68 build style.
