    Vintage air mini. This is their vacuum unit. The gen 2 mini is slightly bigger.

    Are you sure about that Gauge Insert Danny? I don`t know--To me it looks a bit small and lost in the dash, and isn`t a really `sympathetic` shape....Sure won`t mistake it for any other Coupe though....
    Not bashing your workmanship either. Really neat. Perhaps Proverbs 15.22?? For me anyway...

    Too small? It actually slightly wider than a stock oval insert. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1452934357.901221.jpg

    I designed sweeping arcs into all of the brackets on the chassis, and I wanted to bring a part of that into the inside of the car too. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1452934672.727905.jpg

    Beautiful craftsmanship ,the brackets are a work of art.....just a question.....shouldn't the tapered spacer on the lower shock mount be the other way around....to put the wide base inboard to spread the load from the leverage imparted by the shock assembly?

    It shouldn't be a problem, it doesn't stick out any further than a typical bolt on shock stud. Plus. The main shock bracket is 1/2" steel. I'll change it if it becomes a issue.

    @reefer
    If these were coilover shocks; I might agree with you, but regular shocks don't require much as they don't support any vehicle weight.

    If I was using coil-overs I would design the brackets very differently.

    Not that I need them at this point (nor could afford them), but I'd like to hear your thoughts or see some simple sketches of the mounts you propose. That is if they aren't in the secret development stage.
    I'm no chassis engineer, but these current ones would please me to no end if I had those to mount my coilovers.
    Like all your stuff; these are some nicely made mounts.

    I would bring the gussets down to the centerline of the shock hole, and make the hole size 5/8" instead of 1/2". I would also weld on a spacer so the shock body would clear the bracket.

    Too true, Danny. Point taken. I don`t really like a stock 32 Dash Insert on a `50s or `60s styled Hot Rod, though. A Pre or Immediate Post War Car, yes, but a later period car just needs more gauges and a larger/longer insert, at least to me. All your Chassis parts scream sixties Indy Car, almost. By the way...I think a line of those pieces would be a good retail for the shop......

    I've done cars in the past with more gauges, but never for myself. To me, there is no need to know 6-10 gauges of information. By the time you notice a gauge on the other side of the car, the damage is done.

    Sometimes. When you fire the car up, especially if it has sat for a while, Gauges can be your friends. I prefer a simple five or six hole insert or row. That way you have your Speedometer,add or subtract the Tach, and you have amps/volts, oil pressure, fuel level, water temp and not much else.Still, Hot rods are supposed to reflect ourselves as well as the `Genetic Hot Rod Line`.....eh?
    Sometimes the look of something overcomes practicality....wait........Isn`t that Hot Rod 101 ??

    I like the extra time you take to design them with some nice "Extras" not just a flat slab of metal.
