We took an old car for a lap around a remote community where I lived, 6 jammed inside & one on the bonnet clutching onto one of those fuel tanks, the wiper blades & pumping the fuel with a hand pump at the same time, the faster we drove the harder the task became! Hahaha no brakes or clutch added to the difficulty level! Was very entertaining :D

  6. At only 6 gallons you are going to need to stop for fuel often, pack a Jerry Can. FYI, pre-'57 boat tanks were usually pressurized and had a second line running back to them using crankcase pressure to push gas up to the motors, no fuel pumps on the early motors, hand pump to prime and then off you go. Enjoying the build, several guys from here in Atlanta are heading to the ROC.

@cactus1 yeah it’s a stumper he drove the truck to his place and pulled the motor out of it. So pretty weird that it’s not spinning now

  18. Ah. Sounds like a mismatch of parts then huh? Bolts too long? Bolt heads too fat?

It’s not the clutch like Joeys issue but no doubt it has to be something simple

The starter drive isn’t stuck in the flywheel teeth is it?

@Primered Forever thats what my first thought was. I had a flathead that had like one bad tooth on the flywheel and if I rolled the dice and landed on it when I parked that fucker wasn’t doing a damn thing. I’d pull it off, roll the motor and stick the starter back on and be off to the races.

he doesn’t think it’s that but I don’t think he’s pulled the starter all the way off to try it with out it on yet

Rock it back and forth in high gear a few times and it will pop loose in most cases if that’s the problem.

He’s tried that with no luck. Mine wouldn’t ever budge either. He’s got the cylinders soaking thinking a ring decide to stick but as of now I haven’t heard any progress on that front

  25. i feel like ive accomplished absolutely nothing for mine, you've completely built your car from scratch in three months and mines barely roadworthy in two years.

  30. I was afraid of that. Bummer. But, you guys accomplished a lot in a very short time and that is something of which to be proud. You have your dream car and that’s pretty awesome!
