I like it either way. Heaven forbid we start building our cars all identical. I like a nice "set to launch" stance normally but don't want to dictate every car needs one to be "worthy". It is period correct and my Uncle had a similar one in the mid 60's.

Not really only an "east coast look".

What about Kisam "Tuffy" 3w...from ? Nebraska? Hers was/and still is, channeled even more. Plenty more were all over the USA.

it's what the kids were building in the 1950s..they were not building highboys

the owner of this coupe should be praised for saving a style of the past.

If one starts to change this or that, it won't stop until it's ruined.

  6. Really nice car but I sure agree with Larry.

  7. I dig it. Looks like a very clean hot rod. Is there a long history on the car?

Looks a bit northwest style to me,
not all chopped and channeled cars came from the east coast

Sorry Larry, Tuffy was built by my best friend in late 50s smack dab in central USA.
I think stance and style were dictated by the builders tastes which were influenced by both rods in the area and the rods seen in magazines at the time.

A little rake would be nice, but that is still a no nonsense nice ride.

Jerry Chin has style for miles.
Nobody can say that isn't a traditional looking Hot Rod even if you don't like the look of the stance.
Do your homework people and look at the Andy Kassa Deuce and multiple other Channeled cars from the 50's and 60's.

This is my car you posted and I personally hated the channel job of it, I much prefer the channel on Jerry's black coupe, but everyone has their own opinion on what looks good.
BUT It's not about east coast west coast here, for me it's more about people knowing what is traditional and what is not.

saying that you don't like the look of these 'NEW' cars makes yourself look silly cause my car and Jerry's car were both built back in the day.
Also your 'Mileage may vary quote' is totally off too, I couldn't see a damn thing in this car cause the windshield faced the ground.

I can't believe this car has is getting so much flack and the post about the cars of VLV is getting so much love.
    Unbelievable.

There is no right way to build a 3w...to each his own. I stated MY opinion on what I liked...that's why I also said your mileage may vary. We can agree to disagree. I personally love the fact that you chose to return your coupe to hiboy status...my favorite way to build a 3w.

Jerrys car is beautiful in person. I like a nose down stance on my own car, but this little car oozes coolness out of its entire being. It is actually a very dark green metallic, and the white compliments it perfectly. The stance is such a small part of its coolness.the fact is the 4 speed, early olds and vintage trinkets are so cool . I am
Jus happy to have had a small part in such a cool ride

agree with larry, looks like a dog with his tail tucked and running

  25. Hahaha!

It's been done so often on A's it's unusual to see it done on a Deuce!

I do love the Olds drivetrain... and it's certainly a perfect period correct East coast example...!

Lotsa folks rewriting the definition of "traditional" on this one. Cars period perfect and the stance matches, check your history books folks. JohnnyA

I only wish i could have driven it around the block,
But unfortunate for me the car left my place and went to the builder for steering install, re-wire and final cleanup before delivery. It is one cool little car and will defiantly have some influence on how I do my 3 window when it's time comes.
