Jive-Bomber submitted a new blog post: 5 Concept Cars Worth Recreating Continue reading the Original Blog Post
The Futura has been recreated. I'm sure there are threads somewhere on the HAMB with a link to the websites featuring it. See jayohrberg.com for one of them. Not really exact, but close. .
I've always liked the Futura better, although the Batmobile makes my Top 10 TV/Movie Cars list. The l' Universelle also grabs my attention.I was a child of the 70s,so I saw a lot of good and bad vans during that era and I've always wanted to do a van project, maybe a Corvair or an Econoline.
I really liked Jay when he played "Mr. Roadster". Visited his shop a few times, besides making all the 'T' stuff in his line he was renovating a nice '34 Three window for Norm Grabowski...an ex-B'Ville coupe. Jay changed costumes like a true thespian, refusing to get 'typecast' in any one role. Er, up until lately.
@Jive-Bomber Jay - Another vote for the re-creation of the 1956 Chrysler Norseman: Marty Martino started re-creating the Norseman in 2004: ... but I don't think much (if any) progress has been made since 2007
I've always loved the Norseman, IMO the neatest concept car of the 50's. How about the 1957 Oldsmobile F-88 Mark II? I've never seen to much info on this one, but I like it.
The 1959 Cadillac Cyclone, Harley Earl's last design for GM. And the duplicated stock concept car would be the starting point for a custom! So here's the before and after: View attachment 2749596
I visit the "Corvette Forum" once in a while, and there is a thread from a guy who has this very project underway.
Awwwww man. Awesome post. I love this period of design in American car manufacturers. WTF happened to that stylized vision anyway ?? You could almost see any of their concepts being purchased and driven. I like this one, another Ghia involvement....this time for Cadillac....1953 coupe :
There was story that there may have been maybe 2 Lincoln Futura and Barris got both of them, A Virgin Futura would be definitely Badass ! but I like all concept cars
