    That looks like a nice one. They were a hell of a road burner in their day. I'm like some of the others and what to see the after it had a bath and a buff photos.

    If I would have thought about it this would have been a perfect candidate.

    Okay, okay... I was teasing the reveal a bit!

    It took a little bit to bring the paint back, not going to lie, but still can do a little more.
    Now don't hate on the wheels, but I had them and thought they looked pretty good on her.

    I just realized how much these cars looked like they had a '61 Chevy bubbletop roof grafted onto them, especially from that rear angle shot. :eek:

    Do that interior up in red and that car is totally hot. The wheels are ok with me.

  16. The '62 Chrysler 300 Sport hardtops came from the factory with a 383ci V8.

    If it was a '62 Chrysler 300 H (letter car), then it would have come from the factory with a 413ci V8 ... with in-line dual 4bbl carbs (i.e., no cross ram intakes).

    Here's a handy reference for the Chrysler 300 letter / non-letter cars:
    • '55 C 300 = 331ci HEMI V8
    • '56 300 B = 354ci HEMI V8
    • '57 300 C = 392ci HEMI V8
    • '58 300 D = 392ci HEMI V8
    • '59 300 E = 413ci V8
    • '60 300 F = 413ci V8 with cross ram intake
    • '61 300 G = 413ci V8 with cross ram intake
    • '62 300 H = 413ci V8 / '62 300 (non-letter) = 383ci V8
    • '63 300 J = 413ci V8 / '63 300 (non-letter) = 383ci V8
    • '64 300 K = 413ci V8 / '64 300 (non-letter) = 383ci V8
    • '65 300 L = 413ci V8 / '65 300 (non-letter) = 383ci V8

    The Sonoramic intake was no longer standard on the 300's in '62, but was an available option until '64.

    Thanks. I thought about taking it, but going to head to invasion (not w the car) Sat. to hang out. I'll take it next year if it don't fall in line w Invasion. As for loading it up, I drive mine. Car runs good, brakes are the biggest thing it needs, it stops, but barely. Looking to do a drop spindle and add big brakes all the way around. After that, keep it clean and drive it.
     
  23. Taillight lenses on those are tough, the top flat portion really is subject to sun fade and cracking and so forth.

    The car turned out very nice. 'Hate' is over used term. Some Supremes or Radir 15's will finish this off nicely. And a 3/2 drop.

    As Hemi32 stated, a 383 two barrel ("rated" 305 HP) was standard with a 413 with single four (340 HP) or dual fours (380 HP) the optional engines. Also as stated, after 1955 the 1962 was the first year Chrysler offered a non-letter version which for the first time available also in 4 door hardtop and sedan along with the 2 door and convertible. While the 2 door hardtop was the highest production only 11,341 were made.
    Enough for history, now drive the wheels off it!

  29. One other minor correction; Chrysler used this body shell from 1960 through 1964 with various changes (and as Dodge, DeSoto and Plymouth models also).
