Here are a couple of pictures from the February DAARA event in Zephyrhills Florida. Some of the cars pictured in this forum are still around.

  4. I looked at the car. I don't think it's a Cagle car. He usually ran 2 stripes. A red one and a blue one. I can't make out the number.

IMO one of the best looking coupes ever. Just look at the way the body is raked on the chassis, clean paint scheme, and a cool-ass number.

Ken,I stand corrected parade vs VICTORY LAP!Not done up here in upstate NY,Fonda,Utica-Rome,Brewerton,Fulton etc.All they do is bring down the top 3 at the
finish line to be interviewed.Sure do miss it!

Ken,I know, back in the early 1950's -to early 1960's racing was totally unique.Using belts or chains on the door posts, using th cap helmets, using jet safety belts from the airforce to tie down the hood and tied as a lap belt was totally nuts. These pioneers had to be a little bit crazy to risk life ane limb just to race a car that they built out of a junk yard. The car counts at Syracuse in the early 70's would be over 180-200 entries. Not any more lucky to get 45 cars. I remember going to Middletown in the mid 1970's where they would have 65+ modifieds and over 100 limited sportsman to make a 26 car starting field.Racing in todays world is all about $ Nascar down to the local
weekend tracks. Car counts are down,if you checked out Bristol where you had to get tickets 1 yr in advance is now seat free!My Heroes,Bernie Miller,CLiff Kotary,Wild Bill Henry,Ralph Holmes,Kenny Platt,Buddy Thurston,Frank Mathalia are all locals in my area and have given me their blessings to post their pics.A member of HAMB is going to show me how to post the pics, some of this stuff will blow your mind!Long live this
Website because if we don't post these guys will someday be forgotten and that is not right/THANKS FOR CORRECTING ME let the VICTORY LAP live forever.
