The original rear steel fenders, with the radiused wheel cut out's. Remember the hand formed lip on the radiused wheel cutouts earlier in the thread, they didn't need any bondo. IMG_5919.jpg

We are hoping to have it ready for the November 7th Southeast Gasser race at Greer SC dragway. Still a long way to go but it's doable.

Hey can we get a completed pic when the car is finished? I'm loving the color, craftsmanship, and story of this car. Keep it going :)

Ric you are the master when it comes to names. I'm not sure what David is going to name it but when we drug it out of the woods it had Secret Weapon on the door (See pic at the first of build thread). I know that he has talked about keeping that name even tho we can't find any history on the car. He has a few other names but I can't remember what they were. I'll sure pass these on to him.

You need to make some shirts with a pic of it in the woods on the front, and a completed 1 on the back. That is some nice work there, it's going to look bad a$$.

  15. Ok Quain, this it! That body is also know as a Starlite Coupe. The SEG has "The Moonlighter", now it needs "The Starlighter"

Pretty sure it's someone's handle on here, but if it was "secret weapon" in a previous life, then I will throw my .02 in...

I agree with keeping the name it had also. Ric's idea with Starlighter is a good one tho.

  18. You guys dragged it out of the woods, you could call it "The Woodshed" cause thats were you go to get a whoop'n

Here a few pics of the painted body. it's a 57 Studebaker color. I'll post more detailed pics when I get time I'm running wide open right now. Mike Suhy is doing the final assembly for us and doing a great job. IMG_6703.jpg IMG_4566.jpg IMG_6223.jpg IMG_7088.jpg

Here's some more detailed pics as the car goes together. The felt is back around the rear quarters just like it would have been in the 60s. IMG_3653.jpg

I wasn't sure about it when David first called me over to look at it setting in the woods and ask me about building him a gasser out of it. Now I really like it and think it will be a big fan favorite at our South East Gasser events.
