Projects 50 chevy disc brake conversion ( car )

    anyone have advise on putting disc brakes on a 1950 chevy car stock suspension. are kits available for stock suspension and where?? thanks for any help. bufford

    chassis engineering has a good under floor master cylinder mount. I used one on a car I had and it bolts right up to the factory holes and uses a 68 - 72 Mustang non power disc brake master cylinder.

    if you want power brakes you either need to do a firewall mount or the under floor one that puts the m cylinder under the seat where there is no access. kinda goofy if you ask me.. difficult to fill and no way to check the level without getting under the car with a mirror.

    if there is a different style under floor unit I haven't seen it though it has been a while since I looked.

    Chev's of the 40's is the ECI kit. ECI also sells the under floor power unit took me 20 minutes to install and uses the stock pedal

    Thanks HAMB'ers, all help appreciated. I did get parts ordered for my friend's 50 chev. My BEST friend passed away Aug 24th:( and his wife asked me to
    finish his car and she would drive it. I think that's neat, most would sell it!:D
