Dang! It looks sooooooo damn good!!! You have done a great job, very impressed.

  14. Was over today to take a look! The pictures do not do it justice. The body is super straight and the paint looks just like it did when Ted's dad had it(only better).

The reflections in the garage are better than some cars that have been cut & buffed, gonna be super slick when you're done.

thanks, it is not perfect but i am happy with it.

  17. ok, here is the tally after sanding and buffing; 2 cat hairs, i dog hair [same color but thicker], a small fly that appeared to be conducting an aerobics class with a couple gnats, sycamore tree fuzz , some small identified dust, and something larger that was the only thing i couldn't get out.
    sorry about the dirty lens. DSCF4010.JPG DSCF4011.JPG DSCF4012.JPG DSCF4013.JPG

    VERY NICE!
You should be very pleased with the results after busting your hump with all the prep work!
I have been following this thread from the beginning, and have been impressed with your tremendous work ethic and skill. Looking forward to seeing it all buttoned up.

    thanks Alice:D

thank you! i am really happy with it. and think once all the paint is on it should go together easily.

  23. snuck in a little time to work on the motor the other night. was able to get the oil pump on and the oil pan. i also dug out the old oil filter canister, the 283 had been converted to a spin on and i am going back to the rugged steel canister. DSCF4014.JPG DSCF4015.JPG

Is she still 283 or a 301? Which ever still looks good. Can't wait to see how the gold looks on the underside and on the coupe. Just curious, what are you using to spray?

  26. the new motor is a 307ish...... the hard way. 327 with a 283 crank bored 10over.
as far as the color under the car there are some photos earlier in this thread that show it painted.
i used an epoxy primer and rustoleum. when my dad did it originally it was a lighter gold, i like this darker version

I bet the tops of those fenders would look good gold. :)

  28. You gonna' color sand, and buff out the fender's nether regions too ? :D Honestly I wouldn't be surprised with either yes or no here. lol looks great.
