Features 33-34 Ford coupe bodies

  1. Doesn't Don Smart or someone make door tops so that you can convert tudor doors to a 3W?

I'm not sure. I was told that the tudor doors have a little different shape. Not as much bow, or flatter then the three window doors. I'm no expert on 33-34's so I honestly don't know.

Don't know if you guys saw but I posted these on the event coverage. Got these at the Titusville Fl auction last weekend can't wait for them to arrive. Super nice family sorry for their loss of Bob!

  6. Someone posted pics of them. I didn't know for sure who got them but glad it was a Hamber so we won't loose track of them. So, between you and Steve (SScoupe) you'all have a pretty good pile of coupe bodies. I hope to sell/trade my cabrio this year for a coupe. Tim

51farmtruck - now that is my idea of a trailer load! Nice score - all the patch panels to rebuild that coupe body are readily available. That extra cowl is just a bonus. Tell us the story behind this find, it's what we dream about.

Soon as they get here the blue hooded 34 will go right in the garage and will try to get it started. It has juice brakes already so get them working. Then I have a Columbia rear ready to go. Hope to have it up and going in a month or so. Bonneville for sure!

IMG_0691.jpg The 34 frame that is shown in posts 483 and 485 of this thread now looks like this - the original rails needed some work, so I used a set of ASC rails I had along with the original x member, trans, front and rear cross members. It is all bolted together for mock up purposes, when the time comes I would like to rivet all these pieces together, just like Henry did at the factory.

I'm also building a '34 5 window, that I tried to buy for 25 years! By the time I was able to buy it, the Floors were gone, and it needed "A lot"! Since then, the old fellow I bought it from, passed away ( last October). He had another really nice Coupe that was covered with a Tarp!! I got Lucky! His wife called me, and I've got it also!! I don't know how (yet!) to post photos here, but I have some photos on Instagram, hurtdogshotrods. Check it out, tell me what you think!!

  20. Looks like I may have another '34 5W body/frame coming soon as well - fingers crossed!!

Post pics here when you get that coupe - I got a 34 5 window recently that came out of northern Alberta - I don't know how you guys missed it.

  23. I wasn't really looking - I'm actually REALLY wanting a 3W but not in the cards for right now, unless someone wants a '32 Tudor project or a '34 5W project bad enough to trade straight across!

Thanks, 31pickemup. There are still lots of original frames around, so keep looking and you will find one. They are advertised here every now and again.

I look everyday, I've found a few but they are a bit too pitted for my liking or have had the rivets taken out of the crossmembers. I'm building a highboy so I'm being picky on the frame

My wife calls this car porn lol.......I knew I was in trouble when I looked up and it said 386 more pages
Wow! quite the emotional roller coaster actually to see cars come up for sale that you know are long gone, hearing about the outrageous prices and feeling kicked in the nuts knowing you'll never afford them just when you feel low enough to walk under a snakes belly with a tophat on you start seeing cars built out of peices of scrap literally rising from the ashes and it starts to restore your faith and you think maybe you can .....but then you see a piece of swiss cheese selling for $22,500. and youre back lower than whale shit.....

Thanks for the comments, Nailhead A-V8. This thread began 7.5 years ago, and the idea was to see if there were other coupes out there like mine where the build started with very rough bodies. So far we have come up with over a hundred 33-34 Ford coupe bodies posted on the thread - most requiring a ton of work to rebuild. The scarcity of these bodies has driven the price up, and finding good condition originals that have never been touched is very rare - if you do, expect to pay a big sum of money to put it in your garage. Coupe bodies can be built from parts, or from four door sedans - as we have seen on a number of threads here. They are still out there, and I know we can find more to post on here, so keep looking.

Looks great. I thought about doing that with my ASC rails but I could never locate the original stuff in good shape.
Hard to tell that isn't an original chassis. Nice work.
