Ok, was going to put an order in for my missing headlight door - and learned that there are 2 different sizes that buick made this year. Can someone measure the outside to outside of the headlight door. (if anyone happens to have a decent driver I might be interested too).

    Thank you

  2. Does it have a Cord front end or something ? headlight door ? Do you mean trim ring ? I don't recall anything fitting that kind of description on a '49 Buick.....but I have been wrong many times in this life. Nothing ever surprises me. May give ya' a shoulder shrug on this one too. Good luck !

  3. Headlight "door" was the proper description in the day.

Headlight 'door', 'trim ring', bezel', and maybe a few more, were common usages over the years.

Since the '49 Special is a carryover '48 body, he does indeed have a choice - 1949 Super or Roadmaster headlight door is what you need.
