Wow that is a thing of beauty right there. Mine to had some signs of it being customized back in the day. Its interior was a reddish pink and light blueish turqouseish color with signs of the body being the same turquoisesh color. Mine had been stripped of all its trim and leaded up nosed and decked and some funky taillights grafted to it and leaded up.

Great find way too cool. You can make bows on a folding top go all the down. You have to use a dog leg at the main pivot point, witch will allow the bows to kick forward then down. Did this on my old '41 Ford convertible with the bows chopped 2 1/2 inches.

Thank you. Some other projects are on the burner too, so have only been 'dinking' with it slowly. For the time being am not continuing with paint, just going to get it up and running, and work out the top and upholstery as well as getting the hood fitting properly etc. Want to sort it all out driving wise before we do all the 'finishing' stuff. Will post some more pics of it as it progresses - thanks for being patient! :)

Lenny's is looking great! Sadly, mine is just collecting dust, though it's driveable now, not a reacher, but can be driven - tucked in a corner of the shop out of the elements. Truly, I should get it into the hands of someone who has the time, and skill to finish it!! :)

  18. Bahahaha. Guess I have some wooden nickels in that club too fellas'. I always cringe bringing an old thread up ... just so much good stuff here ... hard to not ask at times. This '39 Phaeton is just too cool. No disrespect intended to anyone.

I know the feeling I have a 1951 Mercury Woody Wagon I have not been able to touch in years other than move it around here and there.

  21. Looks like the OP was on here June 13th of this year so hopefully he will see this thread and the interest shown and give us an update. I remember when he sold the Black A Coupe in his avatar photo a few years ago. I think it went overseas somewhere. I was desperately in love with that car. It was just dead-on perfect in my eyes. aboneblack.jpg

Normally, I don't care much for a black coupe and red wheels-----normally. This guy "gets it".
