Since I've never frenched headlights, last summer I began taking pictures of other 1949-1951 Mercury customs with frenched headlights for use as reference material when it's time to do mine. I was looking for various styles or subtle tweaks that make them different from car to car. I'm sharing these with you guys too. I'll be adding more, and I'm encouraging everyone else to add their own pictures of frenched headlights. As a bonus, most of these pictures also show rounded hood corners, different grilles, and molded front ends for comparison too. When you add pictures, please let us know what car they are on. 1949, 1950, 1951 Mercury:
Great thread idea. Looking forward to more posts. You're right about being able to see close ups of things like the rounded corners, grills etc.
Good thread idea. Wish I could contribute. Anyone else have any close ups of the frenched headlight areas? I know, just go buy a hagan kit and do it up. Right? (there, that oughta get some attention )
Ah boy... those Hagans sure are nice. What close up picture are you asking for? The headlight rings? The fender before the headlights rings are welded on?
I came across this pic, I really like the headlight treatment, maybe not exactly as it is but the general idea.
