Event Coverage BLACKWALLS CHICAGO present Git Down at Hala Kahiki **NEW LOCATION**

Presenting the inaugural Git Down at Hala Kahiki, presented by the BLACKWALLS.

Car show for 1964 and older traditional hot rods & customs (& cycles too) starting at Noon. No billet, no rat rods, etc…..you know the rules.

Live music with crazy loud surf from the 13 Tikis (link).

Show cars are $5, spectators are free, so come on and get lei’d by the BLACKWALLS.

(Note: This is a bar, so while kids are certainly welcome at the show they are not allowed inside. There are plenty of food options nearby though)

Less than 2 weeks away! We're getting some great positive feedback, sounds like the turnout should be pretty good! Its a big lot though, so plenty of room. Help spread the word, lets make this a kick ass end to the Chicago hotrod season.

Bringing both cars!

 

Weather is looking good. Hoping for a good turn out, met with Hala Kahiki owners the other night and all is set. The lot has room for about 50+ cars.. should be a blast. Band (13Tikis) inside from about 1:30-4:30. We'll have shirts for sale- limited run. Free spectators and $5 for cars meeting criteria.

 

Got off work early,and checked out the lot. Should be a great show! Yesterday one of my customers that has a few mint GTO"s said after I told him, "it's a gravel parking lot!" OH NO! "what if it rains?" I said, "then my cars get wet,and a free wash!" I swear, some people don't deserve old cars! His statements made it worth getting out of bed!! See ya's Saturday!
