Well, in September of 2011 I got the itch to build my first car, went out and picked up a 53 Chevy 210 2 door sedan. Started with complete car minus engine/transmission. I didn't waste any time tearing it down to nothing, so not a lot of really early pics. Here's a few pics of the tear down. The side view was a little later on in the build. In that picture the mustang II front end and 2 link trailing arm setup was already installed. Also had the small block chevy and 350 turbo mocked up.

The floors were not very bad, but the inner rockers were shot. I decided to cut the entire floor and rockers out and start from scratch. As of now, most of my floors are installed, rear end is mocked up, engine is mocked up. Next step is ordering a 65 mustang fuel tank. Recently picked up a 327 out of a 1969 camaro and am planning on putting vortec heads and a mild cam. Here's some more recent pics. Also added was a dash from a 1950 Buick. Picked up at a local swap meet.

Subscribed! I can appreciate great metal work! Looks like you have plenty of man hours in the floors alone. Is that a Jimenez bros. 2-link in the rear? Chris.

This is your FIRST build?? Damn, dude, then where'd you get the skills, knowledge, and tools to pull all of that off? Your learning curve is quite a bit quicker than mine - really nice so far.
What are your plans for the finished car?

Thanks everyone for all the kind words. Chris, yes that is a 2-link from Jimenez Brothers. That kit was a bit pricey but well worth the money. The installation was pretty straight forward and required very little fab work. atomickustom, yes this is really my first build. If i'm unsure about something I just research online. As far as the metalwork, i find that if i beat on it with a hammer enough i can make it fit! At least on the floor, we'll see about body panels!

Overall plan for the car is yet to be decided. Probably a mild custom. I do have the rear window from 50 ford sitting in the garage, so a chop is most likely in the future. I would just like to find a few local guys who have done it before to help me out. I'm not real big on cutting the roof off a perfectly good car when I have no clue what I'm doing!

looks great! what headers are you going to run? Did you have to cut off your emergency brake for header clearance?

Well, after a 6 week break or so I'm back at it. Finally the weather has straightened out and it hasn't been 100 degrees outside everyday. Got my fuel tank mounted. Trunk floor is now done. Steering column mounted. Steering linkages mocked up. And I also began cutting the rear wheel wells out and making new tubs.
