    I have been thinking about this thread for a while,... maybe it will take off,.. maybe it will just die on the vine,.... But how about a thread with pictures of Famous Hot Rods and Customs, Before anybody ever imagined what was ahead of them,.... I have a few,... So lets see what happens. :)

    My old Pal Frank Mack and his famous Track T,...
    Winter of 1950,.. That is his old house on 8 Mi. & Randall in Farmington Mi.

    Hate to pick nits, but that isn't Tweedy Pie... Not sure who's car it is and I have seen it before in 60s show coverage, but not the one you think it is. It does look a bit like the "Trojan T" show car, but I don't think that's it either.
     

  5. Great idea for a thread. The T roadster you showed however, is not the Johnson/Roth Tweety-Pie, I believe this one was from around the Detroit area.

  11. I first saw the Frank Mack at the first Autorama, three years after that photo. Hooked me on hotrods.
    I drove the little deuce coupe to high school as my friend Chili Catallo started to turn it into the famous lil deuce coupe.
    Love this thread. As young guys we lived every minute of the construction of these cars.

    Great post, even better pictures, love the amount of effort, put in to building these cars, lifting engines, by hand, sitting in a roadster, in the dead of a midwest winter, working with what they had,these fellows, had a dream and were determined.I think we are all a little soft these days, I know I am.

    Both cars featured Rod and Custom Magazine.
