Magnum Photography Agency just hired a company to filter through its image archives and tag keywords. To everyone's surprise, look what the little artificial intelligence program unearthed..

    ...TREASURE...

Neat photos from the movie that brought our hobby out of obscurity of the '70's.

  4. Great stuff!! Thanks for posting. Love the old black and whites. Really like the one with Ron Howard in the T-Bucket and Candy Clark is looking good with her ass parked on the fender of that Deuce Roadster......Don.

$12 a car load any one else

  8. I love this photo too. The T-bucket looks familiar too. I remember seeing it in a magazine but I can't remember which one. Maybe even the Rodders Journal coverage of the LA Roadsters? Anybody have an idea?

I went to see the movie when it first came out. Took my idiot ex-wife...
She didn't get it. DIDN'T GET IT!!! She went on to say that when she attended Sacramento High, there were no hot rods (or souped up cars) that she ever noticed. ('57-'61!)
I knew some guys that had attended school with her, they were Porsche customers of mine...They said, "Oh yeah, Cherie was real popular. But not with the car guys..."

I watched the movie that first time in ernest. I had to say, "Wow! I didn't think anybody knew what it was like to live downtown and race every night! Now they make a movie?"

"Rebel Without a Cause" was the mainstream movie that really annointed me.
It was the validation my young being needed. American Graffiti merely re-defined it.

Wow, what a great collection of photographs. Thank you for sharing. I would like to have some nice quality prints of these.

Someone was asking about the T Bucket Ron Howard is in, I am sure thats the one Milner's friend with the sun glasses (at night) was driving, it's only shown for a few seconds.
