Scott Berschauer of Jerry's Auto Supply in Wenatchee Wa. had some family Super 8 film down loaded on a DVD. I had a friend burn a few copies & down load it on U-Tube for all to enjoy. This was typical local drag racing in the '60z at Ellensburg, Arlington and maybe a few others unidentified tracks in Washington St. This is in remembrance of his dad Jerry Berschauer (in stripped shirt) who has since passed....................... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5GuXxxBtYE&feature=player_detailpage <object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/K5GuXxxBtYE?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/K5GuXxxBtYE?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object>
The Yellow Willys and the Blue 3w '32 with Alfred E. Neuman on the grille shell are awesome examples of cars from back in the day. Thank you so much for posting it.
Only if you send me the link afterwards! I wish it were better quality and had some music but also glad it was found & saved at all......................
Very cool footage. The other tracks are Pacific Raceways and Arlington but i'm guessing that is Ellensburg at the beginning and end about ten years apart. Looks like it starts in the late 50's and the last scenes are 68 or 69. I thought Ellensburg was on the airport runway but that sure doesn't appear to be a runway. It kind of looks like one of the road/taxiways on the north side of the old WW2 airbase. I'm looking at it on Google Earth but can't place it. Some of our members here own some of the cars shown.
