So some of you may remember the "Silva Speed Special" chronicled here. This car sold and left me searching for another project. I found a 34 coupe in Tennesee, ably constructed by Gene Mckinney of "Genes Hot Rod Parts." To me this car had good bones and with a few changes, the makings of a nice period Hot Rod. So a deal was struck and an "adventure" to Tennesee ensued (a story in itself). With the car safely in Texas the project begins...After a conversation with good pals at Austin Speed Shop, a plan was hatched. Bob Bleed handled the chop with aplomb. I then swapped wheels and tires and present stage 1 in a series of forthcoming changes. I'll keep ya'll posted as we progress.
What a great start on a beautiful '34 coupe - always wanted one like you have going and also a roadster. Just great lines for a hot rod. I am sure you will do it right.
nice lookin coupe. I`d have to channel it 2" in the back and 3" in the front to get rid of that frame
Gene screws together a pretty decent car. Wish I had known that you were in the neighborhood. I look forward to seeing this one progress. JH
I can tell that you are an individual with a great amount of taste. This car looks awesome man!!! Reminds me of the 32 five window that is one of the last in the Birth Of Hot Rodding book.
Almost perfect... I love it. I only say that cause I know you wanna do more stuff, hahahaa. Bob did a nice job of finishing it...looks right. Good luck/have fun.
You nailed it but you have that knack and Bleed is a s deft with a chop as he is with a punk rock guitar... Kevin criuised it by this afternoon while Dreddybear was over picking up a an old coke machine I was giving away. As we chatted it up in garage, had a few beers, and puffed a stogey, I couldn't help but to be continually distracted by it sitting up top of the drive. The pictures don't do it justice, that's what we always say, but it's god given the truth.
Pictures don't do it justice. . .looks even more amazing in person. . .cannot wait to see the final changes!
Kevin, here are a couple pics from yesterday. I'm jealous man...your car is beautiful and I think the chop turned out perfect (nice job Bob!). Thanks for having us be a part of your project. -John

Hey man your car looks great, but the chop looks a little lopsided maybe the drivers side lol..........
Kevin I liked it before but now I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very nice work Bob, another car I cant wait to get to Austin to see up close Rusty
I got to ride in it today, that car brings a wide grin to EVERY person it passes. Thanks again for the ride Kevin, it's SWEET!!!! THere might be something wrong with your car though. Strangely enough when you pulled away the tires mysteriously produced some white smoke and spun really fast and made this screeching sound....
