Dropped 5" in the front and about 3" in the rear. Added the chrome wheels, coker w/w's, chrome rear bumper, new rubber floor mat, new master cylinder, cleaned up the engine a bit, a quick tune-up and replaced all the little things it was missing ( lense's, knobs, wipers etc.)
Now it's a blast to run around in. Thanks to Roadburner1 for the help getting it lowered and to Big Dad for getting me in contact with all the right people to get parts from and the cool decal in the rear window. Gary

Looks good, Gary... The wheels, tires, spit-shine, and altitude adjustment made a big difference!!

Kudo's on building something a little different, Especially since they are the best looking trucks ever built:)...Truck is awesome. I'm sure big dads truck is a little inspiration. Here's mine that one day might drive:mad:

This looks to be really cool. Keep us up-dated on this one. I've always liked this body-style but yes..... Big Dads truck was a huge inspiation and probably the coolest sweptline I've ever seen. Gary

Heres a little on how it was lowered. In the back the rear shackle was lengthen'd and a few leaves removed. In the front the axle was moved from below the springs to setting on top and a new plate was made to hold it all in place along with new U-bolts. This, we found out created a few geometry problems and so the pitman arm had to be shortened to straighten it all out. It still rides good but obviously lost some travel and it bottoms out a little quicker ( energy suspension bump stops helped soften that up) Before the manuel steering was pretty hard but with the shorter pitman arm it steers much easier, the downfall is now the sweep in the arc of the pitman arm is shorter so it takes more revolutions of the steering wheel to turn the tires. It isn't a big deal once you get used to it. It does still have just a little bump steer, but I just got a steering dampner from So-Cal that I'm thinking will clean all of that up. Gary
