As with any concern, I defer to the HAMB...
I did a couple of thread searches, but nothing specific enough to answer my issue. Here goes:

Currently doing a build up of a 1950 Coronet. Have spoke with a guy about a running 318 with a tranny that he has. I know Chevy's well, but this is my first Mopar. Yes, I was tempted to go with a Chevy drivetrain but, pffft, may as well try to keep it mostly Mopar (speaking of the 67 Tbird interior).

Currently I dont have the number stamp from the block, so going on what he says it's from a 97-98 truck. It was pulled to drop a 440 in it.
With that said, I am looking for an intake (preferably something like the Edelbrock Performer) that will fit it. Since its after the late 60's, I know its an LA motor, but dont know if that even matters, I also read where the bolt pattern was changed in the early 90's??

I just want to order the correct intake so I can carb it.
I also want to go HEI with it as well, so maybe a suggestion on where to get that too would help, may as well toss that in here too.

Thank you in advance O'Technical Gods of the HAMB!!

My apologies for what some Mighty Mopar Men may think are total noob questions, but then again, for me this isn't a Chevy...lol

  2. Here is the Eddy intake. They make another intake that is just like the Eddy but has bolth bolt patterns and it is cheaper. I have to check but my dad had a chrome one that was brand new. He was asking 200 bucks for it.

    Here are the distributers.

This one is just a stock 73 and up dist. with a chevy 4 pin HEI unit bolted to the side. Anyone that knows ignition can build it themself.

I ran a 4 pin HEI unit with a 360 for years on a daily driver and it out performed the stock 73 and up mopar electronics. You may also want to junk the crappy mopar alternator for a one wire chevy.

If the oil pan area is the same as the 70s-80s 318s you'll need to get a rear sump pan, oil pump pick up, dip stick & tube from a van or pick up.
