In case no one else has mentioned it, there is a very nice spread in Street Rodder March 08 on the John Cooper/Tom Culbertson "El Tiki". Several beautiful color pics, a nice article, etc, including some comments about Dustin (and friend Clark) painting it and some great build pictures. Check it out and congrats to all the guys involved in this one. Great car and I look forward to seeing it again at the World Of Wheels "1962" show in Indy!
I believe this is it... What a kool car.... http://s132.photobucket.com/albums/q27/tierod_bill/Goodguys%20Indy%20-%2007/?action=view¤t=DSC_00540001.jpg
Since I'm the "silent" partner LOL......I'll jump in here.....thanks guys for the kind words. Hope to see you at the car show next month.
Congrat to John and Sue. I let my subscription to SR run out last month so I will have to pick this one up.

Congratulations to everyone again!!!! twice this month now, first Hometown HotRod and Now this!!!! Great Job
Very cool car. I took several pics of it at the Nats, where it was "power parked". Forgive me for asking, but who is the unsilent partner? Rich
Laughing to self... Just revisited the mag during a bathroom break and realized the "Tiki" is on the cover too!
yeah the article rocked guys. def. a good spread. cant wait to see you all at the world of wheels!! take it easy and congrats!!
i just got mine. people were thinkin i lost my mind. i just kept sayin ive rode in that. what an awesome memory. thanks to you john. ---keith
Scoob, I about shit when I saw that it was on the cover (even if it is a small picture) Yes, it is the OLD El Tiki, a shitload of $$$ and time and the back half of the car is now better suited to the front. It should make the 1962 Motorama if the chrome plater doesn't become my demize. Keith, We'll go for another ride next summer. Nothing quite like riding in an old roadster on a nice summer day.
Hope the chromer makes it. Looking forward the updates. In fact, I am looking forward nice big toasty warm buildings filled with rides. See ya in Indy.
El Tiki on Car Crazy website... Part of the Goodguys Indy video is an interview and overview of the car. Enjoy! http://www.carcrazycentral.com/Video.aspx?VideoID=71
Does'nt sound like the silent partner is being so silent. Susie, John just wanted to let you know I had a great time at the Autorama. P.S. The fins look great and congrats on both mags, maybe someday I will get the honors. Thanks, Kyle
It would have been hard to have made the 1962 Motorama without your help last Wed night and Thurs. morning. And, welcome to the HAMB. Thanks for bailing me out!!
the head rests and fins look awesome. the new steering wheel really sets off the interior as well. it looked great at the autorama
The car looked great. Would have liked to have spent more time checking it out but I was mezmorized by those old christmas decoration gizmos (LOOK AWAY FROM THE LIGHTS!!!)
Congrats to Tom, John,Suzie and Dustin. Couldn't happen to nicer people. Cool little roadster and even cooler people!!!
