For anyone who's trying to get their video clips down to a more manageable, "YouTube friendly" size:

Depending on the resolution and the file type of the video, you may have to decrease the resolution and convert it to a different format. If the original video is shot at 640x480 resolution and is in .MOV format you may have to convert it to something like 320x240 pixels and save it as an .AVI or .FLV file for example. This will greatly reduce the file size of your video (with at least some slight reduction in quality) and make it much easier to upload to YouTube.

Your video camera may have come with software to allow you to do this kind of conversion. If you have Windows Movie Maker you can do some basic editing to make your video shorter but it doesn't give you a lot of choices for saving in different sizes or formats.

I've been pretty happy with the results I've gotten using this Any Video Converter Freeware.

http://www.any-video-converter.com/p...or_video_free/

It will let you do resizing and a bit of basic clipping and editing but mainly it seems to be able to convert nearly any video format into any other video format. There's a bit of a learning curve but the layout is still pretty intuitive. In some ways it looks kind of complicated but you can keep things as simple as you like.

Here's what you do to get this to work!
Left click on the address bar at the top of the page twice and a small portion of the YouTube address highlights. Put the pointer on that part, right click, copy and paste that into the thing that comes up when you click the on the HAMB reply page.

Here's how to embed the video that's linked a few posts back.

Go to the YouTube page featuring the desired video. Place your cursor on the address bar and then left click, which selects the entire address. Wait a second and click a second time to deselect. Then hold the left mouse button down and drag the cursor to highlight only the part of the address between the "equal" (=) signs and release the left mouse button. Copy the highlighted link by one of the following methods.

1. Right click on the highlighted text and then left click on Copy. Or...

2. Use the keyboard shortcut and press Ctrl+C to copy the link.

Now open the forum page and click Go Advanced at the bottom of the reply window. On the tool bar just above the text window go clear to the right end of the tool buttons and click the one that looks like a movie reel. This provides the necessary tags to post your video.

You should see a blinking cursor in the middle of the tags, right where you want it. Just press Ctrl+V on the keyboard to paste the link between the opening and closing tags. It should look like this, but with brackets in place of the parentheses.

(YT)eFxFo2virbo&feature(/YT)

Then press the Preview button and check out the results. If it works click the Submit Reply button.
