Fooled me! Cool "photo" none the less.

I am certain that Photoshopping will someday become the scurge of historians worldwide.

  8. Wow! That is freaky, same car. I would like to know who died. The car is rebuilt and Ray had it at the 1950 PRC run (below).

Oh boy! Been off the internet for a while due to so much work.
And what do I find when I return? The best hot rod thread ever... :)
Building my -28 roadster in a pre -46 style this is just plain heaven.
I think the surroundings is as much fun and interesting as the car itself.
That is why the newer builds are ok, but the surroundings are pulling it
down a bit. As inspiration, that is. You know what I mean, haircuts,
Dickies shorts and newer cars in the background. :D

    Here's what I started on:

Some of the stuff I will use on the V8:

It will go with splash aprons left on and the -28 grille shell...
    Out next summer!

Keep 'em wonderful pics coming, pleeeeze...

thats gorgeous! and I know what you mean J.B., there's almost nothing ever wrong with the car...its where the picture took place with all that background noise that dosent go...and its also what makes the pictures on this thread so interesting is that the majority are original pictures at their prime!

although my coupe has a 283 smallblock (ugh, but it does have Caddy valve covers and someday will have a real Caddy) I tried for a 40's look to it. the pics with the girl in it are from my photo shoot for CK Deluxe a couple years back. And a couple pics from the day I bought it Sept.7, 1977.

As an old man I can remember one signiificant thing about those days. There were darn few old guys there.
Why, because the old guys did not have cars to hop up when they were young.
Cars were only 35 years old at that time, and kids could get a Model T roadster for$5-10 cash, so we could do what we wanted with them.

the old guys , you know those 40 year old guys, wanted the new cars, because they had families and jobs.

But it is interesting to see the old pictures and see how inexpensive it was to have one. Gas at 8 cents a gallon!

    Have a good day.
