Technical '62 Impala Bench Seat Shifter

I have a converted automatic with a 4-speed Hurst shifter in my '62 Impala. It's an older style shifter; the chrome shaft is permanently attached to the tranny bolt-up assembly (the newer shifters are bolted on and allow removal or replacement of the chrome shaft).
I've checked around and it seems that Hurst made a model for the '55-'57 Chevy's. Anyone ever used one on a '62? I'm sure it will fit on my Muncie trans, but not sure of the actual " fit" and "feel" with a '62 bench seat.
