Here is a short story about my friend Chuck's (A.K.A. - "Nip"). He has owned the Falcon Sprint since the late 60's. It has made the trip to the Phillipine for the USAF. So, I guess that this Sprint is also an Air Force Veteran ! Pix are as follows - right rear quarter (pease notice the radiused wheel opening) paint is gold with bronze fogging -shades of Gene winfield (will tie that part in later). Second pix is a 3/4 pix of the rear of the Sprint. Third is the the car with the hood open. Chuck just had the original chrome valve covers replated - looks good ! Engine is a 260 V-8 with three speed trans. Seat are the factory bucket seats. Dave
Guys, Here is the second set. First is the left front 3/4 of the Sprint. The second is the hood (louvered by Gene Windfield in the late 60's ! The third is a better view of the radiused wheel opening and Nips fogged paint job (last painted in early 80's. Dave
Here is the third set. First is a good shot of the rear of the Sprint. Second is a shot of the left 3/4 view. Got to love the shape of the roof. Car has been in storage since 1989. It was in a shed so it survived fairly well. Nip's daughter is going to be driving it to the NSRA Nat in Bakersfield in Apr. If interested please stop by and check the Sprint out. Nip is more than willing to give you the details of this Falcon Sprint Custom ! Dave
Falconman, Thanks for your interest. Car has had quite a life as a Custom. Been quite a part of Chuck's family. I believe Chuck has taken the Sprint to the Falcon Car Club National Show. Dave
Love those '63's, had a couple of 'em. real nice rear fender treatment there, when I did my h'top I used the arches from front fenders, showed off the TT's nicely. A driver and SCCA tow car for 10 years.
scrapiron, If you have any pictures of your '63 you should document that car here on the HAMB. Should bring some great attention. Dave
Guys, It's the weekend that Nip's '61 Falcon Sprint will be at the Bakersfield Western Nationals. Show is at the Kern County Fairground. Anyone needing some striping or lettering for their ride check out my good friend Mike Schartel who will striping all weekend. He usually stays over Mon and Tues if you need some lines. Look him up. He is a very good Christian gentleman. You will always fing him with his handicapped son - Paully. I will be the guy strolling around on Sat taking some pix and hooking up with my rod friends. Dave AKA - Gandalf the face of TPS
Guys, Here is an update on Nip's '63 Sprint. He had it up at the Petrolina swap Meet and Car Show at Kramer Junction today. I have enclosed a couple pix of the sprint that is now back on the road. Dave
