I'd like to mount a Vertex Magneto on a 59A flathead V8 block. My current understanding is that this is possible if I first mount an 8BA timing cover and use an 8BA cam. I plan to use a later 8BA timing cover that has an extra bushing past the angle-drive gear.
Before buying expensive parts, can you guys verify whether or not this will work? Thanks

  2. Welcome to the HAMB this is the intro board, you should post questions on the main board.
But answer your question yes you will need to run 59A cam gear on the 8BA cam as the 59A and 8BA crank gears are cut at different angles.
