I'm sure I'd look like a dork I regularly do an hour street/trail ride on my old rigid street bike in my normal attire, even on epic cross country rides it's never occurred to me I needed spandex and I resent paying for someone else's advertising.

I believe that is Charles Stobar Working on the 1958 Thunderbird JR body mold. Charles worked for Ford styling and made these molds prior to the introduction of the new model year Thunderbird, Mercury and in 65 Mustang cars so they could be used by the dealerships in opening day festivities. Here is the same mold in an earlier stage of the process in a 1959 Ford Times magazine article.

I own that mold!

Thank You Mart. That will take a while to get through. Here's a few favorites from the Daily Herald photos. Imagine me liking the first one.

We have this neat photo up on The Old Motor and look at the shine on this tudor!! We also have a link to a video of a very interesting 1936 Ford salesmen's film that is quite interesting.

This is really a long address and it may already be on the site, but it takes the whole address to access it. Its a video of what I believe is assembly of 1936 Chevrolets. The machinery is amazing and it must have been extremely noisy. Also, some of the "adjustments" made with a hammer are interesting.

40 years ago, in 1972, a Mr. Thompson was moving his photo office location from the Rampart area of Los Angeles to Glendale. I saw he was throwing hundreds and hundreds of 8 X 10 inch B&W negatives into the trash. They were all from his files that he had compiled since the late 1920's.
I asked if I could have some of the negatives and he said "help yourself, kid".
I took about 500 and, yet, thousands went to the dump before I got there.
But...I did get 500.....
All 80 square inch negatives, too....
