Title says it all. I passed on a set at Carlisle the other week because I was afraid I'd get em home and the hubcaps wouldn't clear the spindle of hub on the 46-48 juice brakes of the banjo rear on my Model A. Any ideas?

  2. Moon makes em in different depths, and it was common to dimple the center to clear. Use a ball peen and have at it

Moon discs were first made with a low crown front AND a high crown rear to clear the axle/hub on early Ford rearends.

Thanks for the feedback. I am actually looking at a set of snap on hubcaps, not the screw-on real McCoys, but since Moon make a high crown version for pre 49 axles, it sounds like I was smart not to take the chance without a couple measurements...

Wow, your car looks great! YOWSA, if the high crowns are that much different, ain't no way the hubcap moons everybody sells are going to clear the spindle on the banjo brake drum.
