We were parked next to Steve's "Welderup" 55 at So-Cal - that car drew a lot of lookers.

Did you happen to notice a sheet metal cover over the steering gear on top of the drivers side frame rail?
This car strongly resembles a car my friend Cliff built back in the 80's...right down to the paint.
