I dug this out of an old railroad box car this week in edmonton alberta canada. It had been there since 1970. It is a 1957 ford ranchero. It has a small block chevy(rumor is that it is a 301), a three speed stick and a ton of character. I am attempting to get it going right now so i will post updates as soon as i can.
Awesome!! I was hoping you would still post pics after the other thread got deleted. wash it, change the oil & drive it.
I know. Those valve covers are identical to the chevy but say pontiac. Does anyone out there know anything about this car?
The seats are out of a 67 Plymouth Satilite, looks to be a early 70s build.. That yard looks familiar..
Nice score! Amazing what jewels are hidden away. A few blocks from me is a nice '55 Pontiac 2-door sedan running a SBC with a tri-power and 4-speed. It's been parked in the old guys garage for probably 30 years. Not for sale.
Very cool, there used to be a chopped, black '57 Ranch running around the Calgary area 15-20 years ago, your car reminds me of it a little (without the chop, of course). Neat find, I'd run as is with a wash and a mechanical going over.
That Chopped Black Ranchero was out of Canmore.. and the owner was a Member of the Wild Rose Car Club.. I believe he still has it..
Well, I got it running today. At least I got it started today. I have to take in the fuel tank tommorrow. The front wheels are ET and the rear are appliance. I have been told that this may be an old drag tow car from Edmonton. If it is that car, the engine is a 301 stroker (cool). It was originally red and white, then two tone blue, then dark green, then this Dodge "Sassy Grass Green". Like I said, it was put away in 1970 but does anyone out there remember this car?
Hey alright man. Cool score!!! Damn I love it reading stories like this. There's still "STUFF" out there. Just have to go looking for it.
