Here she is as I found here on CL. Do you like the trailer queen tail light set up? 318 going in. PO put the motor back into your lap, the engine was about 1 to 1 1/2 feet into the firewall. We're using chassis engineering mounts and a cavalier rack. Right now it has a 902 trans but I have a a833 laying around that I might use. Here's Ede (nicegyede) stabbing the block.
You've done great work so far. It's terrific to see another old MOPAR come back to life, especially a rare one like this. My '39 Ply has been/is a work in progress.
yeah i got 2 lenses for 10 dollars and a bezel for another 5 i scored big time ill keep my eyes out down here for more if so ill send them your way
today mocking up the 39 ford headlamps also sorted out my steering box i bolted to stock location but slid the column back in the cab looks like i will have to shorten it about 3 inches i will update as i go started on my floors as well more pictures to come
You are doing a great job so far! Please keep the original dash - it's a great looking piece. It should be fairly easy to adapt any 30s-40s aera speedo to work in that dash and replace the face and glass.
I love late 30s and 40s mopars, they are so beautiful. It looks good already, and i'd be proud to drive it as is.
Sorry its taking so long for updates it has been really busy at the shop i haven't had much spare time to work on the car hopefully later this week i can get back to work on it more updates soon i promise!!
update! update!! sry its taking so long lately a lot of my time has been taken up with work and another car i recently picked up its an old show car from the late 50s early 60s its called Twlight Zone 1930 model A coupe this showed up in the mail today ! its a supercharger from a late 1930s Graham i plan on running it with the flathead 6 im really looking forward to it!! also i picked up this old heat/ a/c controls from a 55 Packard in the local junkyard this is going to be FUN! here are some pictures of a graham flat Six supercharged
Wow, I really like the Dodge a lot. All the different shots, head on, rear, profile, three quarter.......that car doesn't have a bad angle! The height of the art Deco period produced some real icons in design, your Dodge being one of them. Leave the body alone!, it CAN'T be improved on by any cutting, slicing or dicing!
Thanks everyone yes paint later on down the road.. I was thinking of using the same shade of blue thats on the firewall now or black but I have to say that will probably change since the summers here in texas are terrible
so i was able to get going on the floors again so out of the entire car i was only able to save one section of the original floor as the rest was too far gone at least it was the good part which holds the seat tracks in place to i trimmed it down until i had a solid piece to start with next made a tunnel to match the floor made template for sides and trimmed down to fit once i got both sides fit pretty well i measured out and ran it through the bead roller
Looking good my man! I'm still working on my front suspension but I can't wait to get on to the metal work! When I bought my '39 the floors were made out of thin aluminum signs that were pop rivited in place. The seats were bolted to this and so were the seat belts!
