Got the gas pedal hooked up, used the original parts but moved the linkage to the drivers side. Also got my new driveshaft and mounted it....

Some progress, got the gas tank mounted and a fuel pump/fuel lines. Also made a battery box that i mounted in the trunk instead of the engine bay...
Made a "kickup" floor because im planning a small kickup on the frame in the future so i thought it was best to prepare the floor for it....
Som rust repair, bottom of the trunk reinforcments/trunk mounts on both sides got done.[ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] .
Sandblasted the manifolds and put on some stove polish, also made flanges for the exhaust system. Its gettin closer and closer to first start...

I thought of grinding down the tig welds on the top of the new radiator to make the top tank look like it was made i one piece but i was afraid of...

Minor update, got the radiator/lower radiator pan and a pulley powdercoated. Now the radiator is in place and i have to find some fitting hoses....
Well got my hand on another 283, got it mounted and bolted in place. Did som spacers for the motor mounts to raise the engine a bit. The big bolts...
Yeah, i wonder. And the pan had been on there for a long time.
Well i got the crank mains off and its shot, seems ive been ripped off. It sucks because its kinda hard to find a 283/327 here.
The main caps and rod caps is marked/numbered so they changed all the bearings at one time but thats no guaranty they are good.
Gettin the 283 ready and when i took the oilpan and timing chain cover off i found that one bolt for the front main bearing cap was missing :eek:...

My 283 was missing two of the holes for the front mount. This might seem like a small easy thing to fix but i hate to drill because i always get...

The 700 auto is bigger than a th350 so you have to cut and rebuild the center frame alot. With a th350 you only have to remove the original...
Nah, i think a 283 is a cool old hot-rod engine and i dont want a flathead. Also want a auto so my wife can drive it, so a 283 and th350 is my choice.
