521 is an Allard K1 with cycle wing fenders. The #39 is a road race special called the "Ardent Alligator" that won the first Watkins Glen Road...

Correction to my post about the intakr manifold...it's actually a copy of an Eddie Meyer, not Edelbrock. Also, regarding the Allard tach on post...
The Allard manifold was based off of an Edelbrock dual carb manifold that was sent to Sydney Allard by a friend in the States as a "gift" in 1949....

Steve, How's the J2X coming along?
Most (99.5%) Allards came with the Ballemy (sp?) split front axle suspension. However, I have seen one J2 with solid, one piece front axle.

I'll echo Jerry's comments on the gearbox...you're going to want to upgrade to at least the LaSalle.
