I want to use a hydraulic release (throw-out) bearing on a LaSalle transmission coupled to an extended bell Cadillac 331. Has anyone done this, and if so, what setup was used?
What is the OD of the 'candlestick' inside the bellhousing? I am going thru similar problem with a Ford Toploader, the candlestick OD is very large, the only hydraulic TO I can find that even stands a chance of working is a Tilton adjustable, I'll still have to turn down the candlestick on a lathe to get it to work (hopefully). Having said all that, most people use a hydraulic slave cylinder to operate the arm sticking out of the bellhousing if you can connect to it. The 'Candlestick' is the shaft the TO bearing rides on inside the bellhousing, when unbolted it resembles a candlestick & candle.

You have same problem being the candlestick is huge compared to modern, here is the largest I've found, you'll have to have your candlestick turned down to get the TO bearing on it, it is Tilton# 60-6102: (well, I dunno if the file is loading, if not I'll email it to you)
