    I finally finish my big vintage city scene painting.

    ACRA009-L.jpg

    My next project is a painting for the Rat Fink Reunion auction. I made a practice sketch of the basic idea;

    skbk055-L.jpg

    I'm not a cartoonist or sign painter so this is stretching my skills. After a poll on FB it was decided to name it "CadiRat" rather than "Bubblac" The inspiration is actually a scale model built by a friend;

    Happy FAS fellow HAMBers...and Happy Mothers Day this Sunday:).

    This is a Mothers Day card I did in high school (11th grade) for my Mom.
    My Dad had bought my Mom a new '66 Bronco, but she preferred to drive her old pink & black '55 Ford convert. She and "Crink" the dog would go to town once a week (Fridays) for groceries and hair styling.
    0.23.jpg

    Of all the family pics, this is the only one we have that shows the '55 Ford convert (in the backgroud). That's my Mom driving the tractor...and a 11 year old Hot Rod Jack:eek: (with my 3 cousins) riding in the wagon. She passed in 2022 at 91...she was a fun Mom...I'll forever miss her.
    0.22.jpg

    Will always love you Mom.

    Hello,

    Tony Waters from the Bakersfield Smokers Car Club was the most prolific racer in the roadster class from the time he started with his version of a Modified T Roadster.
    upload_2024-5-10_8-16-35.png from the early Desoto motor to the more modified supercharged motor, it was fast in class.

    History of the late, Tony Waters:

    "In 1954, Tony built a crankshaft driven, supercharged DeSoto motor and put it into his 1925 Model T track roadster, which came to be known as the “Giant Killer.” A founding member of the Smokers Car Club of Bakersfield, Tony and his partner Jim Shughrue, became the guys to beat at the tracks around the Westcoast."

    With help from Irv and Gary Guinn of Bakersfield, Tony dominated the Roadster Class and ended up as the runner up in the 1st March Meet in 1959 at Bakersfield.

    Tony Waters was runner up against Art Chrisman in the first Bakersfield Smokers March Meet in 1959.

    By the time my brother and I saw them again, it was December of 1959 at the big Westcoast drag race event at the Riverside Raceway for all big name racers from the 4 areas of the USA to compete against the Westcoast’s top racers.

    I guess this is automotive art. A sign I made for my bar at home about 16 years ago. I had to weld nails to it to keep the birds off.

    Digital Graphics... I must admit that there is some decent stuff, but very few and far between. Basically it gives me a bad taste in my mouth. I love all the old stuff. Each painter had their own twist and style. "Hand lettering Forever".

  22. While I haven’t got anything to post, I have a feeling that @Jeff Norwell is going to be heckled unmercifully next week since he was late( not on time that is) hehe.
