I'd guess it's been done before, but that is a labor of love. Since I don't see any chewing up around the lug holes, I would think it's never been mounted. Perhaps used as a part for the display/sign?
EDIT watched the video and he did 4 of them!

  11. Post up a pic when they're installed. I dig it!

  17. Thanks guys, yea I just finished them hadn't mounted them yet but today I am I have to mark where the unilug lug nut rings are gonna sit and carefully sand down to the metal that area so they don't get chewed up when I tighten the lug nuts. Yea, all 4 are done this is the first and the LAST set of supremes I paint it took 80 hours to do them but mostly because the angles I have to set my gun to shoot everything even my iwata lph80 mini gun was a hassle. When you see the whole car they'll make sense, there's more detail on the car similar patterns even in the wheel wells. No modern designs or patterns, all 60s kustom era looks I want it to look like the car was done in 1960 and put away. I don't know if anyone's ever painted a set of old school wheels but if there is post it on here I want to see how they look. The reason for the woodgrain spokes on the wheels is because it matches the inside trim of the car, this is the steering wheel going in same car with the matching supreme spinner horn button. I'd love to see something like that done with a Dark color....black, midnight blue, grape, brandywine, pologreen
The gold and glitter flake would really pop on a dark background..

Low-Rider stuff, I guess? Probably nice work, but it's so far out of my bailiwick that I don't even have an opinion.

  21. I actually got a message someone asking if I could do a set for them they're local here in California, I told him it's not that it takes long to do but the hassle of getting in the paint gun in those angles without hitting the other side and smudging paint and clear is horrendous so for that hassle alone I'd have to charge a bit more than what I'd charge for the same job on anything else square footage wise, but he didn't say no so maybe something will be done, I'll give him your idea if so

  22. For shows yea gonna have to jack the car up to set the lettering to show level on all 4, the two back wheels the 65 checrolet lettering the two front ones the cars name. On the road or street shows just let them fly. Car will hopefully be at mooneyes, ventura nationals this year and viva vegas next year

  23. Yea it goes over most people's heads 1 because no one's ever painted supremes before so people don't know what to think, but 2 because I went with an art aspect on it. People at shows enter for different aspects that's why even under same car culture there's different classes. This one isn't classified maybe under paint category but the car is built under an art aspect which honestly will appeal to like 4 or 5 guys at the whole show, which are only painters. Everyone else it'll go over their heads but those 4 no, and those are the 4 my target if you known what I mean. It's a painter thing bit not even an average painter thing our circle is tint and we all know who each of us are the admiration is mutual

They look later 60s lowrider to me. It does give an idea, woodgraining the spokes of a ‘35-6 Chevy artillery wheel and painting the rim the stock color.

I don't remember ever seeing anything like that in the sixties. I can see those on a lowrider that is done today, but not in the sixties.
