Mark, does having all of the stuff at your finger tips allow it to loose some of the magic from familiarity?

WOW ! Thank you Mark I’ll take you up on your offer sometime in the near future. Your stuff really brings back memories. My friends, brothers and I would spend hours looking at models, hot wheels or HO cars before spending our allowance or grass cutting money, I get that same giddy feeling looking at your stuff!

  13. Mark ,
Are there any good places to stay nearby ?
I remember seeing in your threads some cool drive in places to hang out,, and eat a meal .
My life is kind of turned upside down now and I was thinking it might be cool to take a flight and just get away for a weekend this summer .

Lake Minnetonka,,,is it close to you ?

Thank you Mark for not only sharing your collections, with everyone, but for your foresight and passion to have amassed and preserved it all. One word comes to mind…immaculate! I really love your diverse focus. I’ve never seen that many Cragar steering wheels in the flesh, together; in my life! Between you and Kev, I know Rod and Custom minutiae history will never die! Thanks again

  17. Saw the videos on YT before I saw this thread.

I've always heard about the chassis that went along with the Revell Visible V8 engine but I've never seen one.. also, what's the story on the huge Batmobile and Lincoln Futura? Are those die-cast? Plastic kits?

Truly an impressive collection! I will totally be knocking on the door next time I'm in the area, but I don't know when that'll be. I haven't been in the state of MN since about 1997 or so. Maybe if I ever make it to BTT 50s.

The Batmobile and Futura are resin bodied cars , they are 38 inches long. they are not kits. I think it was about 20 ish years ago that the 1/6th scale Futuras and concept Buick Lesabre and a few others were available. They have been out of production for quite some time and the guy that made them never had any permission to do the batmobile, He told me that if I wanted one (I had a hell of a time getting to admit they existed) that I had to pay in cash and drive to his house in Illinois to pick it up in person. I don't know how many Futuras were built but when they were available they cost 2200 dollars ( the batmobile was considerably more) I have only ever seen one more Futura, They have one at the Henry Ford Museum.

  20. A friend of mine bought one of the LeSabres and always wanted the Futura also, but never did end up getting one. It's been living in my office for a few years "on loan" while his life had a few ups and downs. Guess someday he will remember it's here and want it back. LOL. Really nicely detailed models though.

  21. .....oh, and I really enjoyed the videos Mark! Makes me want to get my junk organized and dusted. LOL The stuff in the cases here at the office has gotten disorganized as I keep throwing stuff in and none of it has been dusted in ages.

How long ago did he buy the Lesabre? I think these have been out of production for quite a while now

That Renwal visible chassis kit is one that I snuck up on at a swap meet about 10 years ago for 20 bucks, unbuilt in the box. even then most people were asking like a grand for them, I figured if it was only 20 bucks I might as well build it!!
