History HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, GRATEFUL FOR THE H.A.M.B.

    Howdy to all of the gear-heads out there in the H.A.M.B. Universe!

    Today is the day, I begin my 71st trip around the sun !

    That just boggles my mind.
    It's the one day, annually, that my avatar is displayed in the
    "Today's Birthday's" box on the H.A.M.B.

    I am so grateful for this amazing web site, that I happened to stumble onto, back in 2019, the year I retired from FOSS Maritime Co.

    After a rookie move of not paying attention to the rules, I finally got settled in and began contributing to the weekly (FAS) Friday Art Show, and I have been enjoying that particular element ever since.

    I have met some amazing people because of the H.A.M.B., people like @Hitchhiker and @ClarkH .

    And I am very proud to say that some of my artwork, in the form of laminated place-mats, is now owned by such members as @J.Ukrop @Ryan @Austin kays ,@Hitchhiker

    On a day like today, I like to take the time to remember two of the most influential people in my life.
    My Dad and my Grandfather.

    That's me and my dad back in 1957.

    They were both mechanical wizards and both very much the prototype for what the word "HOOLIGAN" stands for, they were both funny as hell as well !
    My dad lived to the age of 48, and his dad made it to the age of 97!

    That's my dad wearing the white ball cap with his shirt off, leaning next to the trunk of the Mercury, and that is my grandfather posing in the long beach jail, the bottle of whisky was real and not a prop!

    What a long strange trip its been so far !
    I have a lot to be thankful for.
    I survived Covid, and I have a great wife (KELLEY) that is very talented.

    I have a snarky orange tabby cat that, that constantly reminds me that it's HIS planet, and that we all are allowed to live here, at his pleasure !

    Anyway, with out making this a long winded thread of just a lot of things about me, I just wanted to say thank you to all of the great people that make this H.A.M.B. website, what it is, a truly great place to hang out with other gear heads young and old!

    Happy Birthday to you! I'm one year ahead of you, so I can tell you that 71 ain't too bad, but 61 was better. I'll let you know about 72 in a few months. Enjoy your day, love your artwork!
