Yea, it was a John Deere tractor dealer. It's located right outside of the fairgrounds. Carlisle bought it and do it up as something different every year for the Chrysler show.

It is Cerney & Annin, here is another shot without the nose from Don Ewald's site, thanks for filling this in (George Cerney and "Diamond Jim" Annin, don't remember who drove)

I believe that is Garlits, it sure looks like Connie Swingle holding on to the roll bar...

Maybe you should research the criteria for posts in this thread. And also pay attention to Doug's (Mazooma) comment.

Aussie Warren Goodall on tour in New Zealand--Champion Dragway. The car started out with an injected big block Chrysler wedge although here it has a blown early hemi.

Alrightie, didn't mean to offend anybody or break any rules with my earlier post of my little coupe. I did smoke the tires a bit and hit second but shortly slowed right down and really doubt that I actually exceeded the 50 mph speed limit and I signed it as "Dummy Al"... you could read that as I missed seeing the Sheriff's car and/or that I shouldn't have been doing it at all. I didn't intend the post to be an endorsement of anything; just a reporting of something that happened with a truly vintage drag vehicle that is quite historic in that area and I was pulling away from the home of the man who's winning record with the car are legendary. No doubt he had done a similar thing at the same spot many times and he was watching and it might have brought back a few memories for him.
Anyhow, here is a post of the car as taken at the drag strip in Chester, SC with Red at the wheel of the same little coupe.
Also included it the cover of the magazine from Oct 1959.
If this misses the expected guidelines I am in trouble.:)

Here's another shot of Red at another drag strip I think.

  22. Here's a few NEW ones from the
    Puyallup Dragway Facebook page.
This thread has become full of OT cars, new cars, "nostalgia cars", and RERUNS ( some pics posted over a dozen times)!!!
Maybe it's time to close it up. Posters aren't even TRYING to get new shots, just Googling and posting everything that comes up. A once great thread dying.
Sorry if you don't like my comments, but WHY post the exact same, already seen things OVER AND OVER?
Anybody can Google "Garlits", then just wham wham, post every picture. This thread USED to try to be creative and new.

Gary, I think it just happens as new folks discover this thread. I appreciate the effort you make to seek out new stuff as I know it takes a LOT of time. About the time I click...next...next...repeat....repost....bam! something new shows up. Always worth a look each day. Happy hunting.

A shot like this gives me trouble. I have seen so many pics of this car that it's hard to decide if it's a re-post or not. Anyone? 12645207_10204753366148770_6102672033828499885_n.jpg
