  1. So I picked up a 1939 Cadillac LaSalle Opera Coupe-- everything there.. Owner thought the CaddyFlatty was stuck..(PS. --> it wasn't) So now I need to find me a wiring diagram so I can go through everything..

Anyone have one and if you have something close ('37-40) maybe that will work.. Flaven, cough it up.. I know you have a diagram somewhere.. :)

Can't help you with a diagram but I would think with a few minor exceptions it should be the same as any GM from that time frame. I could be completely wrong, of course!

Done right that would make a gorgeous taildragger. Nice score. Get that flatty purring again!

I might have the wiring info for a 40 Cadillac Model 62. I'll check when I get back home today. Is the wiring mouse-chewed, or otherwise jacked up?

This year Cad and Buick had overheating issues due to narrow grill, so be aware. Add a fan shroud at least.

Not a bad deal even with the rusty headlights, best of luck with the wires. Bob

I do have a reproduction shop manual for a 1940 Cadillac which includes 8 pages of electrical info and schematic. Some of the manuals available online are the same for 39 through 41, so the wiring must be quite unchanged those years. I can scan the 8 pages of electrical stuff, or if you want the manual I'd sell it. 79 total pages. The one like I have is selling on the interwebs for $79, I'd let it go for 1/4 of that price.

  22. Naa-- its not wasted but the door fabric is crap.. seat is in good shape and the jump seats are pretty decent

  23. That's really nice of you. I would be interested in buying it. Does it come with caddy flathead information?

Yes, engine, trans, suspension, the whole kielbasa. Shop manuals were a lot smaller back when there were no electronic ignition, EFI, and automatic climate control. I sent a PM to you with info.

Very nice deal you got there. Good luck with it.

  28. FWIW, the LaSalle was a stand alone make. They are not Cadillac LaSalles, just LaSalles. There were no Ford Mercurys or Ford Edsels
