I'm thinking about putting 750 x 16 tires on my 35' ford stock 16" rims. Are these rims to narrow? Anybody running this size tire on these rims? I believe these are 4" wide rims. Thoughts? Comments?

    Is this a trick question?

No, not a trick question. I'm just concerned the 750 tire is to wide for a 4" rim and may be "Pinched" on the 4" rim.

  4. I just bought a set from Corker and they say you need at least a 4.5 and will need to run tubes. Plus the old rims do not have the safety bead to keep the tire from coming off if it would go flat.
But they have been running them for many years......So what the hell do it.

750-16 and 525-16. There are probably a couple thousand pics of cars here running that size on that wheel. DSCN0052.jpg

750 and 550 3 1/2 wide front and 4 inch rear, wide 5's but still the same width as the wires. DSC_0643.jpg

Thanks for the input guys. I am going to use tubes as suggested. These are going on my 30' tudor banger. Miller head, header, two downdraft 97's on a Zepher manifold backed up by a T5 trans, V8 clutch and lightened flywheel.

It's fine no issues at all with a 7.50 on a 4". In fact I prefer if.

Been running them for 12 years, never a problem, Approx 40,000 miles and 3 different sets. Always on a 16 inch '35 wheel with 7-50-16 'Stones.

Don't worry about it, it will work just fine. My Dad is running the same wheel & tire combination on the rear of his Coupe.

i just spread my 35 wires w/7:50's. out to 5 1/2'' on the inside of rim on my T, to make up for the xtra width of the 48 rear. spread to outside on my rdst. pu. ,like look of them on wider rims. just my likes.
