It looks like the manifold they are selling to make your flathead have dual exhaust but the exhaust outlet is closer to the middle of the manifold. The new repos seem to be closer to the right. Has any one seen one like this?
Yep Ive seen one befroe I have a NOS one in my collection I was told they were for 33/34 Fords passenger side only.
Could this be from the ford pilot ? They tend to have different parts. I would bet if you had a pair the passengers side would have the crossover at the front and outlet at the rear.
Pretty sure that is aftermarket for 49-53, where one side stock has only an awkward forward exit that ties into a crossover to the right side.. (OK...is '49-51, '52-3 uses a different one. Here's Bob Drake's repro: https://www.bobdrake.com/ItemForm.aspx?Item=HR-9431)
Not a Pilot manifold, I sent a pair to a fellow in Canada, didn't look like that one at all. Interest item, my did did a similar thing to a stock FH manifold back in the '50's, of course doesn't look as nice, but function would be the same, will head out and see if I can find it and post a pic.
My guess is '52-'53 Ford/Merc, maybe '49-'51 Merc. The one for '49-'51 Fords that I have places the outlet nearer to the rear port, but otherwise the same. Correction-Not '49-'51 mercs.
The location of the hump for the dip stick tube which is between the front and center exhaust outlet will not allow this manifold to be used on any late oil pan. The dip stick tube location on later oil pans is located between the center and rear exhaust ports on any of the 81A or 59A oil pans as well as any pans used for Ford or Mercury engines from 1949 to 1953. This exhaust manifold fits the very early oil pans with the forward dip stick location. But with a relocation of the dip stick tube it could be used with any oil pan.
Ron, The dip stick location on '49-'51/'52-'53 Ford pans is next to the middle exhaust outlet on the front side, and is what the pictured manifold looks to be designed for. The '49-'51 Merc pans do have the stick located between the middle and rear outlets, so your right that it would not fit these. It may, however, fit the the very early pans as you state, but the design looks more '50s than '30s.
Bob I see what you mean about the Ford pans I was thinking about the truck pans. This is one of those after market parts we can find advertised about in early JC Whitney Catalogs and many other parts vendors form the early days.
