Ya the stance will stay for sure. And i am thinking I will go with a dark pearl green now when I repaint it. for sure!
Haha thanks guys here's a little update. I needed to cover the holes in the trunk that I make for the notch and the axle. So I welded in a few pieces and made fiberglass covers for the larger areas that I didn't feel confidant making out of metal. here i have it masked off ready for fiberglass. And here are the pieces in with some rtv under them. And I finished welding up the transmission tunnel. And here's a cool shot from out cruise the other night. I also darkened the lenses since that last picture so they are a nice dark red now not a light pink.
Thanks. I'll keep updating it as I go. Thank you. It has 3" blocks, 3" de arched springs and I removed a few leafs too. So probably like 7-8"?
Very cool... I guess I am not going down that far... I do not want to notch the frame for my 54. Took me forever it seems to locate a nice clean one
Thanks guys. I'm pretty happy with how it's coming along too. It feels so good to cruise after putting in so much work. And in really happy with the ride quality too. It only will rub the front tires when I cut hard in a parking lot, and will occasionally bottom over a hard dip or pothole. But besides for that, it cruises smooth and goes down the road straight.
Little sacrifices in order to look cool.I used to have friends ask me if it was bothersome putting up with glitches.I said no,driving the same thing as everybody else is bothersome.
Not much. I'll probably get or make some laminated dash knobs same color as body color, which I havnt decided on yet. I'd like a custom steering wheel like a 56 Lincoln or something similar. And maybe some pinstriping but nothing crazy.
Read through the whole build so far. Looks awesome! For some reason I'm really digging that goldish color.
Cool thanks. I appreciate it. Ya I really like the gold too. I think I would have it a little lighter though. I don't have any pictures now. I'll get some next time I take an evening cruise. But, I just used a red pearl. I laid on probably 4-5 coats on the inside. It made it much more of a deep red bow when the lights are on. I read about that trick somewhere on here I think.
I've seen a lot of gold customs, and red & white ones too. Green might be a bit different... maybe a black top with flake...
I like the black and green idea. I haven't seen too many customs like that actually. Thanks for the idea.
Do guys typically put under dash gauges in the center of the dash, or closer to the steering wheel like I have them mocked up? Or is it either or?
I personally like them centered for a symmetrical look. That way your leg won't obstruct your view either.
