One of my contacts in Brazil asked for some help. He sent the attached photos and said this car was built in the early 60's in Brazil. The builder was inspired by a U.S. show car he saw, or saw photos of. He asked if I knew anything about the U.S. "show car"?
My guess would be Joe Gembecks 37 Ford coupe built by Darryl Starbird. There are some pictures in his book. Even the rear shot of the car looks similar.
I did a search and found these photos of a car but don't know anything about it. It does sort of have the same whale mouth front end, but I have no idea what they did to the top ..... or why they did it.
That front view looks like two cars hit head on and they couldn't pull them apart so they cut the back half off the one
That was my first thought. I like the back, shame there isn't a profile shot. I'd like to see how far that nose jets out.
I think you may be correct. After running across this thread, I did some looking and came up with this photo of a car built by Starbird called "The Spoiler ..... It was later reworked into a sedan delivery of sorts and called The Love American Style Machine. It looks like it says "Pot O Gold" on the stained glass back window
Meet George Jetson, his boy Elroy, daughter Judy, Jane his wife, . . . Bullet Nose, maybe he was thinking about that corvette thingy called the X Sonic. The front end treatment kind of resembles it.
