Ok I know this has been kicked around forever but lets cut to the chase. What is the best dual master cylinder that will work on a AV8 48 ford backing plates and wheel cylinders ? I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks Jim.T.

  2. Used a 60s Mustang master cylinder on my truck. Drums all around.

  3. I used the Speedway unit. No problems.

  4. I went with an AC Delco unit from RockAuto in my 30' coupe project. #18M116. Suppose to fit 1979-80 Ford Mustangs, Fairmonts with drum brakes all around. They had close outs for $15! and they were brand new, no reman's. They only had one left when I ordered, otherwise I would have ordered everything they had!

  5. Early mustang type as stated above.I have 48 (I think) front drums and 90's mustang rear drums.my pedal is the speedway kit that comes with a mustang style master.I'm using a residual valve in both front and back.seem to work decent

  6. Yep Mustang works like a champ, you can get one at auto zone cheap.

JFYI, Mustang 11s and Fairmonts were all disc/drum. o_O........:)

  9. Mine is NOT an AV8 but, I used a American Motors 1976-63, Jeep 1975-66 1" bore as the ports came out the right side.
